Nebraska began requiring personal finance education in 2024, mandating that every public high school student complete a five-credit financial literacy course before graduation. Each district was given the responsibility of selecting qualifying courses and materials. Nebraska's requirement focuses on income, banking, budgeting, saving, credit, insurance, and investing.
Nebraska schools are in active curriculum implementation under the new requirement. The Crescara//Project meets every Nebraska financial literacy standard, offers technology-driven tools that build real financial habits, and requires no prior financial background from teachers or students.
LB 1107 sets the minimum. A checklist of topics is not a curriculum. The Crescara//Project sequences Nebraska's required content areas in the order students will actually encounter them in life, connects them to each other, and builds habits through repetition, not review sheets.
You can't teach investing without first teaching budgeting. You can't teach credit without first teaching income. The sequence is the curriculum.
Nebraska schools that connect now will be ahead of the requirement. Reach out at info@crescaraproject.org.
